Who We Are
Welcome to TranscenDance.tv also known as "T'Da" TV. We're glad you're here. TranscenDance (T'Da) is a project that promotes healthy living and encourages Connecticut residents to commit to healthier choices. It is your home for setting personal health goals and meeting those goals by making positive changes in your choices for nutrition, exercise, stress management, smoking cessation and mental health among many other areas of wellness. Our website is one component of our project. TranscenDance will also run a 30 minute television show once a month on Citizen's TV.
Before you go any further into our website, we'd like to provide you with a little history of our name, TranscenDance. We've taken it from the word "transcendence" which is "the state of excelling or surpassing or going beyond usual limits." Once you meet your personal health goals you will transcend or move to a higher state of well being going beyond where you are right now. You may be asking where the "Dance" comes in. We're glad you asked! Eric Triffin, MPH, Director of TranscenDance, Health Director of the West Haven Health Department, and Professor of Wellness, is our dancer extraordinaire. We also call him our TranscenDancer. When you view our TV show on Citizen's TV, you will meet Eric and his unique dance and teaching style to promote healthful living. Please read Eric's biography to learn more about him.
We hope you'll allow us to join you on this journey to a more healthful you. We look forward to getting to know you and working with you. Good luck!
